Have you ever realized that whenever you suppress your inner thoughts and feelings that you start to feel more stressed or tense on a matter? 🤯

Suppressing your thoughts and feelings, rather than addressing and expressing them, can have detrimental effects on both mental and physical health. It's like having a clogged valve, the pressure will add until it finally erupts 🌋

Emotions are a natural part of our human experience, and when we suppress them, they don't simply disappear. Instead, they tend to linger, often growing in intensity. That's why some kids and even adults have outbursts for which they are punished severely. The outburst can be as a result of not being able to healthily express their emotions 😢

Over time, this emotional suppression can lead to increased stress and anxiety, potentially contributing to conditions like depression. Typically a depressed person feels like noone understands their plight. A depressed person feels like they are alone, sometimes because there were failed attempts of being transparent, which resulted in being treated like their situation was not significant 🥱

This emotional burden can also manifest physically, leading to ailments such as tension headaches, digestive problems, and even cardiovascular issues 😯

In essence, when we suppress our thoughts and feelings, we deny ourselves the opportunity to process and release emotional tension, which can result in a cumulative and harmful impact on our overall well-being 🤕

This is why it is harmful to stay quiet whilst you are being mistreated by someone you care for ✅

This is why we shouldn't shut down our loved ones when they feel the need to share openly about a situation that is bothering them ✅

This is why we should create a safe space at home for our kids to share their emotions ✅

This is why we should have a circle of friends or friend that we can trust and share with sincerely, and without filter ✅
